Your Birth Name vs Your Current Name

I am often asked about the strength of one’s name. Is the birth name more important or does the name you currently go by, or prefer over your birth name, have more weight? Here’s my answer:

Your Birth Name

Your Destiny number (aka your Expression Number) can be characterized as your Reason in Life. It provides a road map from the beginning of your life to the end. When you understand what it is you were born to do with your life, it becomes so much easier to navigate through the journey and how to respond appropriately. Your birth name, which is your Destiny number, reveals what you must become or live up to in your life in order to be fulfilled. While your Life Path (from your date of birth) is the actual stock you have on hand to run your life, your Destiny number represents the business to be established. It is considered:

Your life’s purpose.
What must be lived up to in this lifetime.
Your field of opportunity.
What you must give of yourself, to others and to life.
The kind of people to meet and work with.
The environment you are comfortable with.
The spiritual mission you have been appointed.

Your Current Name

The current name that you go by represents the strength of your name as you see yourself and who you think you are. It really represents your essence and is a source of power. Your current name can simply be a shorted version of your birth name, or it can be a name you have chosen for personal or professional reasons. Whatever the case may be, whatever name you introduce yourself as is considered a layer underneath the birth name – your Destiny – which is the most important thing to consider when I read your numbers. All other names, nicknames, changes of names, signature names or married names are channels through which the Destiny is worked out and expressed.
